Cholestrol is one health issue where numerous books and articles provide information but yet, certain fine points are forgotten. We came across this article that says that when the body is under stress, the body itself releases cholestrol into the blood. The idea is to use the cholestrol as fuel to generate energy that can be used to tackle the stress. Cholestrol levels could rise dangerously under conditions where the generated cholestrol is not used up. You should read more on this at this link: http://www.health.food-recipe-cooking.com/stress-and-cholestrol-01.htm

Really exciting coming across your artcile just now and I am refreshed with your thoughts on the subject of weight loss management.

Mary I was so happy to read your blog and see that you too are using the 10000 step approach in your life.

I have been using it for the last 1 year and went on a 5 day reset program that is available in the market and lost 3.6kg as an added bonus and 7.5 cm off my waist line. Since then I have lost another 8 kg in the 10 weeks after that and have a very big complaint.

I am finding my clothes too loose for me now.

Taking a good walk 4 or 5 times a week is very refreshing, you get around the neighboorhood and make a lot of friends who are doing the same as you.

I also have incorporated alot of fruits and vegetables into my diet and have a low GI shake once a day.

For more information on healthy lifestyles you just cannot pass this blog by.

Thanks Mary, Claude from Brisbane

Good info. Magnesium can also be a good sleep aid for those people (like my wife) that have insomnia.

I had high cholesterol. I was perscribed Lipator and told by my doctor to see him again in four months. I changed my eating habits, ate oatmeal every morning, walked more regularly and longer, and lost 28 pounds. When I saw by doctor he said, "You haven't been taking the Lipator have you?" I said,"No, I had not; how did you know?" The doc said Lipator lowers both good and bad cholesterol. My good had gone up six points and my bad had gone down 53 points - No Lipator.

The wonder grain flax seed nourishes the body with 4 grams of dietary fiber for a 25 gram serving. While fibers enriching the husk can help with weight loss and regulate blood pressure, the Omega 3 EFAs abundant with flax seed oil provides a host of health benefits that include regulation of blood glucose levels, reducing inflammation and also stimulates the production of vital hormones, among others.
